Mi Shimarucu Martini

This drink is based on tiny, bright red Shimarucu fruit, also known as acerola cherry, Guarani cherry, Barbados cherry, or West Indian cherry. The fruit is originally from Yucatán, and can be found in Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, and South America. It is prized for its high vitamin C content.

Ingredients

  • 50 ml Papiamento Aruba Vodka [1½ ounces plus 1 teaspoon]

  • 20 ml POP Shimarucu Liqueur, substitute cherry brandy (Bols brand preferred), or Sloe Gin [½ ounce plus 1 teaspoon]

  • 10 ml Shimarucu purée (if available), substitute 5 ml [1 teaspoon] passion fruit purée

  • 20 ml Runny Honey

Garnish

  • Three Shimarucu berries, for garnish

Preparation
SERVING FOR 1

Combine the vodka, Shimarucu liqueur, purée, and Runny Honey in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously to combine.
Strain and serve in a coupe or martini glass. Thread the Shimarucu berries on a skewer and add to the glass.
